( maybe it's his hunter spidey-senses that kick in, but hao looks up from his phone at almost the exact perfect moment that hyunsu arrives at sol and scroll. maybe it's his boyfriend spidey-senses. either way, hyunsu's enthusiasm is contagious, a wide grin spreading across his face, and he's quick to stand up, almost knocking his tea over in the process, but it's to throw his arms around hyunsu's neck, hugging him close. )

[Somehow, Hao's excitement is still a little surprising, but Hyunsu can't deny he enjoys it. He slides an arm around Hao's waist and huffs a soft chuckle.]

C'mere, ( hao says from his perch on an overstuffed loveseat when hyunsu returns, making overdramatic grabby hands before taking the initiative to grab hold of his wrist and pull him down himself with little regard for his probably scalding hot tea.

[In recent years Hyunsu's experiences with affection have been pretty limited. It's only since arriving in Saltburnt that people like Eunyu and Hao have started being openly affectionate with him and it's still sort of novel. And sweet. It feels nice to just have some one want to be close to him.
And Hao is almost like a puppy with the way he happily pushes himself into Hyunsu's space. Hyunsu sets his tea down on the table beside them before he spills it on him. Doing that also frees up his hand to gently ruffle Hao's hair.]
( hao truly cannot help the fond way he looks up at hyunsu from his place on his shoulder, eyes big and starry. everything about him feels like a contradiction — he's big and strong, but soft and sweet. he could probably kill hao if he really wanted to (those — knife feather things hurt like a bitch; he healed from the gouges they'd made in his skin, yeah, but he's not so sure what would happen if they plunged all the way through him, mangled up his insides), but instead, he cards his fingers through hao's hair. )

( and as soon as he says it, he's immediately grossed out by the feeling of being vulnerable instead of a thousand percent self-confident. with a shake of his head, he sits up to reach for his tea, which has long gone cold (he was distracted by his phone, okay??), taking a sip. )

[Considering how they started, liking Hao kind of snuck up on Hyunsu, too. He certainly tried to resist, but he's come to discover that Hao can be pretty charming when he puts his mind to it. His excitement and enthusiasm might seem to be in direct opposition of Hyunsu's own tendency to be outwardly subdued, but it's actually fun to be around. At least when it's not murder related.
Though the darker part of Hyunsu might still find it fun, even if when it is murder related, but with the monster resting he can ignore that part of himself.]
