[Hyunsu has never seen Hao like this before. Devastated. That's the only word that fits. Before this moment he might not have thought it was possible. Hao has always seemed stubbornly impossible to discourage in any capacity. This is the opposite of that, and it...hurts to see him like this.
The monster has no idea what to do with that. His usual strategies are useless here. Banter and violence won't help Hao now. Neither will fucking, probably. Concern and empathy aren't why this part of him exists, and he knows it. He could be mad about it, but he's becoming more and more aware that he's still Hyunsu and Hyunsu's priority right now is Hao.
So the monster retreats, shoving his humanity to the forefront of his consciousness. Letting the human take over so he can take care of Hao. Next time Hao looks at him, his eyes will have faded from blue to fully black and then to brown again.
He runs his fingers through Hao's hair, brushing some of the dirt out of it, yes, but mostly just for the sake of doing it. This part of him is better at this. The gentleness of the gesture is genuine rather than awkward.]
It's okay. [His throat feels tight, he realizes, and he feels tears stinging the back of his eyes.] I'm not angry. [And it's true that he's not. Maybe it seemed like he was, because the monster was dominant a moment ago. Hyunsu hadn't thought about how that might look to Hao when he woke. All he feels now is relief mingled with lingering concern.]
I'm going to take you inside. We'll get you cleaned up.
[He doesn't try to get Hao to stand up on his own. Instead he slips an arm beneath Hao's knees and the other around his waist and he just...scoops him up so he can carry him into the mansion. His powers and strength are back now, it's not difficult to do this for Hao. Even if he wasn't crying, he seems disoriented and exhausted, there's no point him making him walk if he doesn't have to.]
